Baton Rouge Hosts 1,800 BMW Combo Doubles Players

The 2007 BMW Combo Doubles Southern Sectional Championships brought 200 teams to town for five days of play in Adult, Senior and Super Senior Divisions. The players enjoyed first class facilities at the YMCA Lamar Tennis Center, Bocage, Sherwood Forest, Highland Park, Independence Park, LSU Varsity Courts, Greenwood Park, Forest Park, City Park and the University Club.

Due to weather challenges, most of the players were on court during the much anticipated players’ party which offered the opportunity to enjoy great Louisiana cuisine, music AND a Mardi Gras Parade passing by the Louisiana State Museum!

BMW offered test drives and a drawing to win a one day trip to the M Driving Course at the BMW Performance Center and Penn provided logo balls for the event.

Kudos to the Baton Rouge tennis community and to Cindy Barksdale, Local Tournament Committee Chairman for offering such terrific Southern hospitality.

Congratulations to the 2007 BMW Combo Doubles Sectional Champions & Finalists in the Adult and Senior Divisions: (Super Senior Finals will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29th)
